Integrator note: 4-pole C-curve at 1.6 A
The Siemens 5SY6615-7 is a 4-pole miniature circuit breaker from the SENTRON family, configured as 3P+N with a C-curve trip characteristic and a rated current of 1.6 A at 35 °C. Rated 6 kA under EN 60898 for domestic/commercial panel coordination, and 30 kA under IEC 60947-2 for industrial distribution where higher fault current is expected; the 30 kA figure is the one that governs SCCR in a plant-floor panel.
Derating and ambient range
The 1.6 A rating holds at 35 °C; at 40 °C it derates to 1.54 A, at 45 °C to 1.5 A, at 50 °C to 1.47 A, and at 55 °C to 1.44 A. Operating ambient spans -40 °C to 75 °C, with humidity limits of 95% up to 55 °C, 55% up to 70 °C, and 35% at 75 °C. Overvoltage category III applies, so it's rated for fixed-installation distribution boards downstream of the main panel.
Fastens via the quick assembly system — snap-on mounting with no tools required. Mounting position is any orientation. Sealable for tamper-proofing after commissioning.
Compliance and material notes
Halogen-free and silicon-free construction, which matters in environments where outgassing from a fault could corrode nearby contacts or optics — think clean rooms, food processing, or marine panels. Touch protection is integral on the terminals.
