Panel-builder commissioning notes
The Siemens 5SY7102-7 is a SENTRON miniature circuit breaker — one pole, C-curve, rated 15 kA breaking capacity per IEC 60898-1 and 50 kA per IEC 60947-2. At 400 V AC single-phase it handles the full interrupting duty; on the DC side it breaks 15 kA at 60 V (72 V max), so it works for DC auxiliary supplies in the same enclosure. Mounting position is unrestricted — horizontal, vertical, upside-down — so it fits tight sub-distribution boards. The quick-assembly system refers to the comb-busbar and jumper-ready terminals top and bottom; combined terminal top and bottom means the line and load connections accept the same fork/busbar comb without adapters.
The 5SY7102-7 is dual-rated: IEC/EN 60898-1 for residential and light commercial distribution boards (15 kA), and IEC/EN 60947-2 plus UL 1077 for industrial control-panel use (50 kA). The UL 1077 listing at 5 kA is the supplementary-protector rating — it is not a branch-circuit breaker per UL 489, so verify your panel SCCR study if the application requires a listed branch-circuit device.
IP20 with conductors connected — the breaker itself is finger-safe only when wired; the busbar area remains touch-safe if the panel uses standard terminal shrouds. Ambient range spans -40 °C to 75 °C, with humidity derating above 55 °C: max 95% RH at 55 °C, dropping to 35% at 75 °C. That matters for unheated outdoor enclosures or near oven lines. Sealable means the toggle can be locked in the OFF position with a standard padlock hasp — required for lockout/tagout on a dedicated circuit.
