Siemens SENTRON 5SY7113-8CC — 13 A D-Curve MCB, 1-Pole, 25 kA IEC
The Siemens SENTRON 5SY7113-8CC is a 1-pole miniature circuit breaker rated 13 A with a D tripping characteristic, designed for 400 V AC systems and delivering a 25 kA breaking capacity per IEC 60947-2. This is the go-to MCB for motor and transformer branch circuits where high inrush currents are expected — the D-curve holds through the start-up spike without nuisance tripping. The 18 mm width (1 modular unit) snaps onto a DIN rail via the quick assembly system, and the combined screw terminals at top and bottom accept solid or stranded conductors from 0.75 to 35 mm². Tightening torque is 2.5 to 3.5 N·m. Touch protection is built in, and the housing is halogen-free and silicon-free — important for clean-room or corrosive environments. Ambient temperature range is -25 to +55 °C; storage goes -40 to +75 °C. IP20 rating applies with connected conductors. Mounting position is any, and installation depth is 70 mm.
Selectivity & Breaking Capacity
The 25 kA rating at 400 V AC per IEC 60947-2 gives solid headroom for industrial service-entrance coordination. Under UL 1077 and CSA C22.2 No. 235 the symmetrical interrupting capacity is 5 kA — a common derating for North American supplementary protector listings. The D-curve (10–20× In magnetic trip) is the right choice for motor feeders, welding equipment, or any load with a high magnetizing inrush. For DC circuits, the maximum rated voltage is 72 V.
Panel Integration
Snap-on DIN-rail mounting, 18 mm per pole. The combined terminals accept up to 35 mm² — large enough for a 13 A feeder but also handy for daisy-chaining busbars. No neutral pole switching (1P only). Sealable option is available for tamper-proof installations. Rated for mechanical engineering and industrial environments per the manufacturer.
