It's designed for branch-circuit protection in industrial control panels, mechanical engineering installations, and distribution boards where the load is moderately inductive (small motors, contactor coils, lighting banks) that would cause nuisance tripping on a B-curve but don't need the higher magnetic threshold of a D-curve. For UL 1077 / CSA C22.2 No. 235 applications the rating is 5 kA, so if the panel carries a UL sticker, that's the number the inspector will check.
Mounting position is unrestricted — vertical, horizontal, upside-down — so it adapts to tight gland-plate layouts. The combined terminal at top and bottom accepts both busbar and conductor, which saves a wiring step when feeding a common supply rail.
