The Siemens 5SY7225-6 is a 2-pole miniature circuit breaker from the SENTRON family, rated 25 A at 35 °C and 400 V AC with a B tripping characteristic. That 25 kA rating under the industrial standard gives you headroom for higher-fault installations — it safely interrupts a bolted fault up to 25 kA without welding the contacts or cascading upstream.
Thermal derating and installation
The 25 A rating is at 35 °C ambient. At 40 °C it's 23.48 A, at 50 °C it's 21.85 A, and at 60 °C it's 20.1 A. It's 2 modular units wide (36 mm), 90 mm tall, and 76 mm deep — standard footprint for a 2-pole MCB in a distribution board. IP20 with conductors connected is standard for a DIN-rail device; the enclosure provides the washdown protection.
The SENTRON 5SY7 series covers a wide range of current ratings and pole configurations. If you're looking at a different B-curve 2-pole unit in the same family, the footprint and terminal layout are consistent across the range — panel cutouts and wiring don't need rework.
