What this 2-pole MCB carries
The Siemens 5SY7225-7CC is a 2-pole SENTRON miniature circuit breaker with a C tripping curve, rated 25 A at 35 °C and 440 V AC multi-phase. Its 25 kA breaking capacity per IEC 60947-2 means it can safely interrupt a fault current up to that level without welding the contacts or cascading damage upstream — that's the number that decides whether this breaker holds its line in a high-fault panel.
Panel fit and thermal derating
Snaps onto DIN rail via the quick-assembly system, 2 MW wide (36 mm), 76 mm deep, 90 mm tall. Mount in any position. IP20 with conductors connected — standard for enclosed distribution boards. The C-curve trips between 5× and 10× In, so it's sized for motor-starting and transformer inrush where a B-curve would nuisance-trip. Derating is baked in: 25 A at 35 °C drops to 23.18 A at 40 °C, 22.2 A at 45 °C, 21.18 A at 50 °C, and 20.1 A at 55 °C. If the panel ambient runs hot, size the load to the derated value, not the 35 °C sticker.
Lifecycle and sourcing
Current-production part. No successor or phase-out notice on record. The 5SY7225-7CC is sourced and quoted to order against an RFQ through independent distribution; availability and current pricing confirmed at quote time.
