Breaking capacity and dual-standard rating
The 5SY7225-7: Rated 15 kA under EN 60898-1 and 25 kA under IEC 60947-2 at 400 VAC, with a DC breaking capacity of 15 kA at 60 V (max 72 V) per IEC 60947-2. Under UL 1077 / CSA C22.2 No. 235 it carries 5 kA. The C-curve (5–10× In) handles moderate inrush — motor starters, lighting banks, transformer primaries — without nuisance trips on start-up.
Panel fit and mounting
Occupies 2 modular width units (36 mm wide) on a DIN rail, with a depth of 76 mm and an installation depth of 70 mm. Snap-on quick assembly system; mountable in any position. IP20 with connected conductors — suitable for enclosed distribution boards and control panels where the front face is behind a door or cover.
Environmental and compliance
Rated for ambient temperatures from -40 °C to 75 °C, with humidity derating above 55 °C (max 95% RH at 55 °C, tapering to 35% at 75 °C). Halogen-free and silicon-free construction. Pollution degree 3, overvoltage category III. Sealable terminals (top and bottom combined) allow tamper-proofing in metered or safety-critical circuits.
