Siemens 5SY7263-8CC — D-curve 63A MCB for motor and high-inrush loads
The Siemens 5SY7263-8CC is a SENTRON miniature circuit breaker with D tripping characteristic, rated 63 A at AC on a 2-pole (2P) frame. The D-curve means it tolerates the high inrush currents typical of motor starting, transformer energization, and capacitive loads — the magnetic trip threshold sits at 10–20× rated current, so it won't nuisance-trip on a pump or compressor start. Breaking capacity is 15 kA per IEC 60947-2 (5 kA per UL 1077 / CSA C22.2 No.235), giving enough fault-interrupting headroom for most industrial panel secondary circuits. At 40 °C ambient the continuous rating derates to 59.54 A; at 50 °C it's 55.82 A. That matters if the breaker sits in a crowded, warm enclosure — size the upstream protection for the derated number, not the 63 A label. The 2 MW width (36 mm) and 76 mm depth fit standard DIN-rail enclosures; quick-assembly fastening and any mounting position simplify panel layout.
Integration and environment
IP20 with connected conductors — fine for enclosed panels, not for washdown zones. Ambient range -40 °C to 75 °C covers cold storage and hot machine cabinets. Vibration resistance per IEC 60068-2-6 (±1 mm at 5–25 Hz, 50 m/s² at 25–150 Hz) means it holds up on a conveyor drive panel or compressor skid. Pollution degree 3 (conductive or dry non-conductive pollution) suits industrial environments. Halogen-free and silicon-free construction — no corrosive off-gassing in a sealed enclosure. Combined terminal top and bottom, touch-protected, and sealable for lockout/tagout compliance.
