What it is and what it does
The Siemens 5SY7332-6 is a 3-pole miniature circuit breaker from the SENTRON series, rated 32 A at AC with a B tripping characteristic. It protects branch circuits against overload and short-circuit in industrial control panels, distribution boards, and mechanical-engineering installations. Breaking capacity is 15 kA per EN 60898-1 and 25 kA per IEC 60947-2, with UL 1077 recognition — so it handles fault currents up to 25 kA in industrial-grade coordination studies. The B-curve trips between 3 and 5 times rated current, suited for resistive or lightly inductive loads where inrush is low.
Ratings that matter for fit
Width is 54 mm (3 modular units), depth 76 mm, installation depth 70 mm. Mounts on DIN rail via the quick-assembly system in any position. Pollution degree 3 and overvoltage category III are rated for industrial panels. Temperature derating is published: full 32 A up to 35 °C, then 30.72 A at 40 °C, stepping down to 28.03 A at 60 °C. If your panel ambient runs hot, size the upstream protection for the derated value, not the nameplate 32 A. Combined terminals top and bottom accept both cable and busbar connections. IP20 with connected conductors — fine for enclosed panels; not for wet or washdown zones without an outer enclosure.
Compliance and documentation
Certified to IEC/EN 60898-1, IEC/EN 60947-2, and UL 1077. Halogen-free and silicon-free construction. Sealable for lockout/tagout. Energy limitation class 3 means it limits let-through energy well below the damage threshold of downstream equipment.
