Under UL 1077 and CSA C22.2 No. 235 it carries a 5 kA interrupting rating, which covers most North American branch-circuit applications up to that fault level. The 4-pole configuration (4P) switches all four conductors — three phases plus neutral — with no separate neutral switching function. That matters when the neutral must be disconnected for isolation or when the load requires full four-pole protection, but it also means the neutral pole is not independently switched; it follows the phase poles. The 72 V DC maximum rating is a secondary spec — this is an AC device, and the DC rating is for low-voltage DC control circuits, not for primary DC power distribution.
Mounting uses the quick-assembly system — snaps onto standard DIN rail. The 90 mm height is standard for the SENTRON 5SY7 series. Terminal blocks accept solid or stranded conductors from 0.75 mm² up to 35 mm², with screw-type terminals torqued to 2.5–3.5 N·m. Both top and bottom terminals are combined, meaning line and load can land on either end — no polarity concern for the AC circuit.
Humidity tolerance is specified as max 95% at 55 °C, derating to 55% at 70 °C and 35% at 75 °C. The overvoltage category is III, confirming it is rated for fixed-installation distribution panels, not just downstream equipment.
