The D curve means magnetic trip occurs at 10–20× rated current, so it holds through the startup surge of inductive loads.
Breaking capacity and approvals
Under UL 1077 and CSA C22.2 No. 235 it's rated 5 kA — the lower figure reflects the different test protocol for supplementary protectors in North American practice. The 5SY7410-8CC also carries a maximum DC voltage rating of 72 V, making it usable on DC control circuits within that limit, though it's primarily an AC-rated device.
Listed as current production (active lifecycle). No official successor has been issued — this remains the active order code for the 10 A, 4-pole D-curve position in the SENTRON 5SY7CC family.
Halogen-free and silicon-free construction, suitable for applications sensitive to outgassing (clean rooms, certain food processing areas). Ambient temperature range spans -40 °C to 75 °C, with derating of humidity limits at the top end: max 95% RH up to 55 °C, tapering to 35% RH at 75 °C. Mechanical endurance rated at 10,000 switching cycles typical.
