Siemens 5SY7663-7 — 63 A 4-Pole C-Curve MCB, Current Production
The Siemens 5SY7663-7 is a SENTRON miniature circuit breaker (MCB) rated 63 A with a C tripping characteristic, 4-pole configuration (3P+N). It breaks fault currents up to 15 kA per EN 60898 and 20 kA per IEC 60947-2 — the higher IEC figure gives you headroom on industrial panel SCCR calculations where the standard demands it. The C-curve trips between 5× and 10× In, so at 63 A that's 315–630 A magnetic trip — sized for motor-starting inrush or moderate transformer loads where a B-curve would nuisance-trip, but not as high as a D-curve for heavy inductive kicks. This is a current-production part (lifecycle stage: current), sourced to order against an RFQ through independent distribution — availability and pricing confirmed at quote time.
Temperature Derating & Ambient Limits
Full 63 A rating holds at 35 °C ambient. At 45 °C it derates to 58.4 A, at 50 °C to 56.83 A, at 55 °C to 55.12 A, and at 60 °C to 53.42 A. The maximum operating ambient is 75 °C, minimum -40 °C — wide enough for unheated enclosures in northern climates or hot machine cabinets. Humidity limits: max 95% up to 55 °C, tapering to 55% at 70 °C and 35% at 75 °C. Pollution degree 3 (conductive pollution or dry non-conductive that becomes conductive) — expected in industrial control panels without climate control.
Installation & Panel Fit
Snap-on mounting to DIN rail via the quick assembly system, any mounting position. Depth 76 mm, width 72 mm (4 modular width units), height 90 mm, installation depth 70 mm. Combined terminals top and bottom accept conductors; touch protection is integrated. IP20 with connected conductors — suitable for enclosed distribution boards, not for wet or washdown areas. Sealable, halogen-free, silicon-free construction.
