The 5SY8513-7 is a 2-pole (1P+N) miniature circuit breaker from the Siemens SENTRON 5SY8 series, rated 13 A with a C tripping characteristic. The 30 kA breaking capacity at 230 V AC (per IEC 60947-2) tells you it can safely interrupt a fault current up to 30,000 A without welding contacts or cascading upstream — that's the figure that governs coordination with the upstream feeder breaker. For DC circuits, the rated breaking capacity drops to 15 kA at up to 72 V, so it's usable on DC control buses but not on high-voltage DC rails. Mounts on a DIN rail via the quick-assembly system — 36 mm wide (2 width units), 90 mm tall, 76 mm deep with an installation depth of 70 mm. Ambient range -25 to +55 °C, storage -40 to +75 °C, with humidity derating above 55 °C. Accepts solid or stranded conductors from 0.75 to 35 mm²; tighten screw terminals to 2.5–3.5 N·m.
Integration into a panel
Touch protection is built in (finger-safe terminals). The 2-pole 1P+N configuration means it switches both phase and neutral, with the neutral pole not overcurrent-protected — standard for single-phase branch circuits where neutral isolation is required.
