What it is and what it does
The Siemens 5TT5733-0 is a SENTRON Insta contactor — a compact, DIN-rail-mounted switching device with four normally-closed (NC) contacts and no normally-open (NO) contacts. It's rated for 24 A at 230 V AC and can switch loads up to 440 V AC. The coil accepts both AC and DC actuation, with a rated coil voltage of 230 V AC or 220 V DC. The 24 A rating means this contactor can handle motor loads, resistive heaters, or lighting circuits up to that current — but with four NC contacts, it's wired to break a circuit when the coil is energized, not make it. Think of it as a safety interlock or a normally-closed isolation path that opens on command. The 1 500 W filament lamp switching capacity gives a practical limit for incandescent lighting banks.
Mounting and panel fit
The 5TT5733-0 snaps onto a standard 35 mm DIN rail and occupies 2 width units (36 mm wide). Depth is 71 mm, with an installation depth of 64 mm — that's the space behind the panel face. Height is 90 mm. IP20 finger-safe protection means it's suited for enclosed control panels where incidental contact is prevented by the enclosure door.
