63 A at 440 V — what that means for your load
The 5TT5852-0: This SENTRON insta contactor is rated for 63 A operational current at 440 V AC, so it switches resistive and moderate inductive loads up to that ceiling — think large heating banks, lighting contactor panels, or motor loads within the AC-1 duty class. The 230 V AC coil means it pulls in on a standard control voltage — no separate DC supply needed for the magnet, which simplifies the control transformer spec in a panel.
Contact arrangement and panel fit
Two normally-open and two normally-closed auxiliary contacts are built in — that covers feedback to a PLC and a hold-in circuit without an add-on block. The housing is IP20, so it is touch-safe once installed in an enclosure but not rated for washdown — keep it behind a panel door. At 71 mm deep, 54 mm wide, and 90 mm tall, it occupies 3 modular width units on a DIN rail — plan your rail space accordingly.
Installation note — spacers required
The manufacturer explicitly requires spacers between units for heat dissipation — do not gang them tight on the rail or the contactor will run hot and may nuisance-trip or weld contacts.
