Transistor vs Relay: Choosing the Right Output Stage
Compared to the standard 6ED1052-1MD00-0BA6 (relay outputs at 10 A resistive), this unit uses transistor outputs limited to 0.3 A. You trade load capacity for switching speed and DC capability — transistor outputs are better for frequent cycling or driving small DC loads like contactor coils or LED indicators. The relay-based version also maxes out at 55°C and lacks conformal coating, so if your panel sees sub-zero startup or high ambient heat, this SIPLUS variant is the correct choice.
Mounting and Power Requirements
Snaps onto standard 35 mm DIN rail, occupying 4 spacing units (72 mm wide). Input voltage range is 20.4–28.8 V DC. The electrical short-circuit protection on the outputs is internal (1 A), so no external fusing is required for each transistor channel — just ensure the supply is current-limited accordingly.
