What the extended temperature range means for a wet-well install
The 6AG1052-2FB08-7BA1: For a lift-station panel that sees -30 °C winter mornings and 60 °C summer afternoons inside a non-climate-controlled enclosure, this part keeps running without a heater or fan. The cold-restart floor is -25 °C, and the spec explicitly allows condensation and frost at that point — but it warns against commissioning under condensation. That means the board can survive a frozen start, but you don't power it up while water is beaded on the conformal coating.
Conformal coating and environmental resilience — the real differentiator
This unit carries a conformal coating qualified to IPC-CC-830A Class A, plus protection against fouling per EN 60664-3 Type 1. It's rated resistant to commercially available coolants and lubricants, including diesel and oil droplets in the air — exactly what you get in a machine-tool cabinet or a wastewater headworks. The environmental spec also meets ANSI/ISA-71.04 Level GX Group A/B for corrosive gases (excluding trichlorethylene), Level LC3 for salt spray, and Level LB3 for oil. That covers H2S off-gassing in a wet well and salt-laden air near coastal pump stations. Installation altitude is limited to 2 000 m above sea level, with the ambient air temperature derated against barometric pressure from 1 140 hPa down to 795 hPa. Above that altitude, the cooling air density drops and the unit needs derating — but for most municipal and industrial sites this is a non-issue.
I/O complement and power supply constraints
The module provides 8 digital inputs and 4 relay digital outputs. There is no short-circuit protection on the outputs; external fusing is required. The supply accepts 115 V or 230 V AC/DC, with a permissible DC range of 100 V to 253 V — so it runs on any standard single-phase mains or DC bus in that window. The power reserve holds the real-time clock and retentive data for 480 hours — 20 days — which is enough to ride through an extended power outage without losing program state.
The depth is 60 mm, height 90 mm — it fits in any standard distribution board or small enclosure. No display on this variant — programming is done via LOGO! Soft Comfort V8.3 or higher over Ethernet, or by loading a program from a standard microSD card. The integrated web server and data-logging functions are available without a display.
