What this switch brings to the panel
The Siemens 6AG1106-2BB00-7AC2 is an unmanaged industrial Ethernet switch with two multimode fiber ports, transferring at 10 or 100 Mbit/s over the fiber link. It draws 0.1 A at 24 VDC from a 4-pole terminal block, consuming 4.8 W. Though unmanaged, it supports Class of Service (CoS), giving you traffic prioritization for latency-sensitive packets without needing a managed switch configuration.
Approvals for harsh and hazardous environments
Rated for Zone 2 / Division 2 hazardous locations (ATEX KEMA 07ATEX0145 X, UL 1604/2279-15) and Class 1 IIC T4. Marine approvals include DNV GL, Polski Rejestr Statkow (PRS), and C-Tick. For safety, it holds UL 60950-1 and CSA C22.2 No. 60950-1. The polycarbonate enclosure (PC-GF10) with IP20 protection is suited for clean indoor environments or protected cabinets. EMC compliance: EN 61000-6-4 Class A for emitted interference. Conforms to EN 60721-3-3 (Class 3S4, including sand/dust) and EN 60721-3-6 (Class 6S3).
Mounting and wiring quick check
Power connects via a 4-pole terminal block; a separate 2-pole block handles the signaling contact. Supply range is 9.6 to 31.2 VDC — watch that the 0.1 A maximum draw is per the rated 24 V, but the input can tolerate a wide variation. The switch has LED Class 1 laser protection for the fiber ports. No Multiport Mirroring available (consistent with unmanaged design).
