Interface and environment
The Siemens 6AG1123-2MB03-2AX0 is a plastic-panel HMI with physical buttons and a buzzer for local operator feedback. Communication is over a single Ethernet port that runs both PROFINET and MODBUS TCP/IP — so it talks to Siemens S7-1200, S7-1500, SIMOTION, and also to Modicon controllers on the same cable. No CAN, PROFIBUS, or MPI present; it's an IP-based panel. Rated for -20 to 60 °C, so it lives in unheated cabinets or near hot machinery without derating. The rear is IP20, which means it's protected against solid objects but not sealed — mount it in a clean indoor panel. The plastic body won't corrode in humid plant air. Network services include DCP for automatic device naming, LLDP for topology detection, SNMP for monitoring, and DHCP for address assignment. No IRT (isochronous real-time) support — this panel handles standard real-time PROFINET and TCP/IP traffic.
