Communication and Connectivity
PROFINET IRT is supported as of WinCC V12; earlier engineering systems revert to RT. For fieldbuses, the panel includes MPI, TCP/IP, MODBUS, and PROFINET RT/IRT. Additional Siemens protocols—DCP, MRP, RDB, CSS, CSV, XML—are built in, eliminating external gateways for line diagnostics and configuration. No CAN interface is present. A USB port is on board for data export, log transfer, or firmware updates. SNMP and LLDP enable network management. Ethernet-based protocols include HTML, HTTP, HTTPS, and DHCP client.
Software and Runtime Compatibility
Engineered in TIA Portal with WinCC Comfort/Advanced, the panel runs WinAC and LOGO! Soft Comfort, supports ActiveX controls and HTML pages, and includes alarms, arrays, icons, and printer output. No Java VM or buzzer. Operator interaction includes hardware buttons, touch sliders, and a speaker for audio feedback. Flash storage retains recipes and logs.
