The Siemens 6AG1132-4BB01-2AB0 is a SIPLUS 2-channel digital output module, delivering 0.5 A per channel from a 24 V DC backplane supply with transistor switching. Each output is short-circuit protected and can detect wire-breaks independently, with diagnostics readable via the backplane. Diagnostic and response characteristics for fast fault isolation
Switching times are 100 µs from 0 to 1 and 400 µs from 1 to 0, sufficient for most solenoid and indicator loads. Resistive load switching reaches 100 Hz; inductive loads at 2 Hz keep flyback stress within design limits. When the CPU stops, the module can either substitute a defined value or hold the last output state — no external safety relay needed for simple fail-safe comms. Reverse voltage and reverse polarity protection are built in when the load voltage matches the power module supply.
