What this module does and where it fits
The Siemens 6AG1134-3AB00-7AY0 is a SITOP DC UPS module sized for a 24 V DC control bus. It bridges power dips long enough for a PLC to finish a sequence or for a valve to reach a safe state – out here in the grease, that keeps a line from crashing halfway through a cycle. Rated for 10 A continuous with a 30 A peak capacity, it handles the inrush of a contactor bank or a solenoid manifold without dropping the bus. Input and output are both 24 V DC screw terminals accepting 0.2…6 mm² wire. The module snaps onto a standard DIN rail (EN 60715 35x7.5/15) and measures 50 mm wide by 125 mm deep by 139 mm tall – fits a narrow backplane slot. IP20 protection class keeps it inside a clean panel only.
Ratings that matter for sizing
The 10 A rated current sets the continuous load you can buffer; the 30 A peak figure covers transient loads for up to 30 ms at 3× rated, or 1.5× rated for 5 seconds per minute – enough for a motor starter inrush or a capacitor bank during a bus transfer. Output voltage follows input minus about 0.2 V, so you don't lose a diode drop; the module stays transparent in normal operation. Typical active power is 240 W at nominal input. Charging current for the connected battery module is specified at 0.1 A (trickle) and 3 A (fast charge), though the exact split depends on the battery module model. Startup delay is typical 60 ms – the module waits for the bus to stabilize before switching to buffered mode.
Signaling and diagnostics for the controls integrator
Three floating contact outputs and LED indicators report system status: green LED and closed NO contact when energy storage is above 85%; yellow LED when actively buffering via battery; red LED (steady or flashing) for low battery pre-warning (<20.4 V DC) or when battery replacement is needed. The changeover contacts are rated for DC 60 V / 1 A or AC 30 V / 1 A – suitable for direct connection to a PLC input.
EMC and compliance – panel builder note
CE marked. Conducted and radiated emissions meet EN 55022 Class B (residential/commercial), so this module won't force a higher EMC shield than the rest of the panel. Immunity complies with EN 61000-6-2 industrial environment standard. Operating resource protection class III means it relies on the SELV supply upstream.
