What the ratings mean for your BOM line
The -25 °C to 70 °C range is the SIPLUS differentiator versus the standard ET 200SP AI (0–60 °C). If your panel lives in a refrigerated warehouse, freezer tunnel, or outdoor cabinet in a cold climate, this module avoids derating. The 4-20 mA signal into 25 Ohm means the loop power supply must provide sufficient voltage above the module's burden. Most 2-wire transmitters can handle that, but verify compliance voltage for long cable runs. Short-circuit proof at approx. 200 mA per module: if a field wire shorts to ground, the module limits current and reports the fault via group error SF (red LED). It does not isolate between channels, so a single short can disrupt all four inputs unless your wiring separates the loops. Wire-break detection is active only in the 1–5 V measuring range (remark: yes, but for 4-20 mA the break is implied by going below 4 mA – the module flags that as overflow/underflow, not a separate break alarm). Integrator notes: mounting and wiring
Shielded cable runs up to 200 m are approved; connect the shield at the module side only (no shield on the field end) to avoid ground loops. The internal filter is integrating, so fast transients couple partly through – use twisted-pair cable in high-EMI environments. Isochronous mode is not supported (= No). If your controller demands deterministic cyclic data with zero jitter, this module is not for that use case.
Sourcing reality: active, orderable, region-agnostic
No functional second-source exists: the listed peer MPNs (6ES7136-6AB00-0CA1, 6AG1212-1AE40-2XB0, 6AG1212-1AE40-4XB0) are not analog input modules but other S7 family products.
