What it is and what it does
The 6AG1136-6BA01-2CA0: It sits on a BU type A0 base unit, occupies 15 mm of DIN rail, and supports diagnostic alarms, channel status LEDs, and I&M data (I&M0 to I&M3) for clear asset tracking during commissioning.
Supply voltage tolerance and wiring
The module accepts 24 V DC with a minimum L+ of -1.5 V, meaning it can operate reliably even if the supply rail drops 1.5 V below nominal — useful for long cable runs or heavily loaded backplanes. Input characteristics: signal 0 from -30 to +5 V, signal 1 from +15 to +30 V with a typical sink current of 3.7 mA at 24 V. Filter times are adjustable between 0.4 ms and 20 ms (off->on and on->off).
Safety and diagnostics
Rated SIL 3, this module can be used in safety functions up to that integrity level when paired with a failsafe CPU (S7-300/400F). It supports parameterizable diagnostics, diagnostic alarms, and channel-wise red error LEDs. Isolation tested at 707 V DC (type test). Short-circuit protection is electronic with a response threshold between 0.7 A and 1.8 A per channel.
Mounting and integration
Fits the standard ET 200SP form factor: 15 mm wide, 58 mm deep, 73 mm high. Shielded cable runs up to 1 000 m; unshielded up to 500 m. No parameterizable inputs; the module automatically encodes the configuration. Firmware updates are possible. Power consumption is 2 W typical, with a max current draw of 40 mA without load.
