Safety-rated outputs for hazard zones
Rated SIL 3 per IEC 61508 and Category 4 per EN 954-1, this module can be used in safety circuits up to the highest performance level. The transistor outputs include wire-break detection and short-circuit protection — the module signals a group error via the red SF LED when a fault is present. The outputs are designed for resistive loads up to 30 Hz switching frequency, inductive loads at 0.1 Hz, and lamp loads at 10 Hz. That covers solenoid valves, contactors, and indicator lamps in a typical safety shutdown chain.
Panel fit and power budget
Dimensions are 30 mm wide, 81 mm high, 52 mm deep — fits a standard ET 200SP slice on the DIN rail. Typical power loss is 3.5 W; the module draws 28 mA from the backplane bus and 100 mA from the load voltage L+ at no load. Maximum current per module is 6 A total, so the four 2 A outputs cannot all run at full load simultaneously — budget the load distribution accordingly. The 500 V DC isolation test between channels and the backplane confirms galvanic separation for the safety circuit.
