What it is and what it does
The Siemens 6AG1138-4HA00-7AB0 is a SIPLUS variant of the ET 200S PROFIBUS DP master interface, based on the standard 6ES7138-4HA00-0AB0 but with conformal coating and a widened temperature range. It acts as the DP master for the IM 151-7 CPU in an ET 200S station, handling one DP line per module. The conformal coating and extended ambient temperature from -40 °C to 70 °C suit it for condensation, aggressive gases (excluding trichlorethylene), salt spray, and oil exposure.
Key ratings in practice
PROFIBUS DP runs up to 12 Mbit/s, supported rates: 9,6 / 19,2 / 45,45 / 93,75 / 187,5 / 500 kbit/s and 1,5 / 3 / 6 / 12 Mbit/s. Maximum shielded cable length is 100 m. Only one such DP master module is allowed per CPU. The footprint is 35 mm wide, 119.5 mm high, 75 mm deep — fits standard ET 200S rail spacing. Altitude derating: full temperature range holds up to 2 000 m; above that, maximum temperature drops by 10 K up to 3 500 m and by 20 K up to 5 000 m.

If you are refreshing a panel that used the standard 6ES7138-4HA00-0AB0, the SIPLUS variant is a form-fit-function upgrade with the same electrical interface and wider environmental tolerance. The base order code difference is only the conformal coating and temperature range.
