The Siemens 6AG1138-6BA01-2BA0 is a current-production 15 mm counter/positioning module for the ET 200SP remote I/O system. It accepts encoder feedback over three signal standards: RS-422, 5 V TTL (push-pull encoders only — not line-driver differential), and 24 V (L+ minus 0.8 V). With fast mode, the input data frame shrinks from 16 bytes to 4 bytes for deterministic high-speed updates; singleturn and multiturn absolute encoders are supported alongside incremental types. Diagnostics cover wire-break, short-circuit, and group error; the module also provides isochronous mode and parameterizable I&M data up to I&M3.
