Module at a glance
The 6AG1151-7FA21-2AB0: This is the Siemens SIPLUS S7-300 PROFIBUS DP master of SFB type – the DP V1 capable, RS485 workhorse for a control rack. It pushes 244 bytes each way per cycle, so it handles a medium-size I/O cluster without breaking a sweat. Rated -25 to 60°C, CE marked, it’s the sort of module you see in plant-floor cabinets that run hot in summer and cold in winter.
Fits S7-300 hardware, not ET 200SP
The 6AG1226-6BA32-5XB0 is an ET 200SP slice – different rail profile, different backplane. This module drops into a standard S7-300 slot: 60 mm wide, 75 mm deep, 119.5 mm high. No, you can’t swap them without a rack change. If your BOM lists the ET 200SP part, this isn’t a plug-in replacement; the wiring and bus connector are also different.
Programming & diagnostics
Choose any of the Siemens IEC languages: LAD, FBD, STL, SCL (with optional CFC and GRAPH). Forcing and alarms are built in. Retentive data must be restarted after a power cycle; the backup battery holds for 6 weeks typical at 40°C. The I2t rating of 0.09 A²·s limits short-circuit energy on the backplane – keep that in mind if you’re populating a new rack.
