PROFIBUS DP interface with time-stamping
The Siemens 6AG1153-2BA02-7XB0 is a PROFIBUS DP slave interface module providing time stamping on signal change with 0.466 ns resolution, storing up to 15 message buffers each holding 20 events, and supporting automatic baud rate search up to 12 Mbit/s. Transmission protocol follows PROFIBUS DP to EN 50170, with a 9-pin sub-D connector. The module integrates into the backplane bus and draws a maximum of 600 mA from the 5 V DC supply. Potential separation is present; isolation tested at 500 V. The module is rated for an ambient temperature range of -40 °C to 70 °C (derated to 60 °C under UL/cUL use).
Key ratings and protection
The I2t rating of 0.1 A²·s defines the let-through energy that the module can withstand; coordinate upstream protection accordingly. Inrush current is typ. 3 A at cold restart. Power loss is typ. 5.5 W. The module's current consumption on the backplane bus (5 V DC) is 1.5 A max. Time stamping accuracy is 1 ms with up to 8 modules, degrading to 10 ms with up to 12 modules. Time format follows RFC 1119.
Compliance and approvals
Configuration is supported in STEP 7, COM PROFIBUS, or via the GSD file SI04801.GSG for non-Siemens tools.
