IRT performance and isochronous operation
The 6AG1155-6AU01-2CN0: This PROFINET interface module supports IRT with high-performance frames as short as 125 µs, and update times selectable from 250 µs to 4 ms in 125 µs increments. The integrated switch passes data with a jitter maximum of 1 µs, enabling synchronized axis positioning and drive-to-drive coupling on the same ring. Isochronous mode and equidistance are both supported, making this the right choice for applications that demand deterministic timing — such as printing presses, packaging lines, or high-speed material handling.
Power budget and thermal coordination
Typical power loss is 2.4 W at 24 VDC supply. Module width is 50 mm and depth is 74 mm. The module draws its supply via the BusAdapter; no separate load supply is needed. Plan for a free BusAdapter slot if you need additional ET 200AL modules, since each interface can serve up to 16 additional modules through the BU/BA send interface.
