PROFINET fiber-optic link for harsh-area ET 200SP drops
The Siemens 6AG1193-6AG00-2AA0 is a SIPLUS ET 200SP BusAdapter that adds two LC multimode glass-fiber PROFINET ports to a distributed I/O station, with a conformal coating that lets it hold the unit on the grid in environments where standard electronics frost or corrode. Rated for -40 °C to +60 °C ambient, including condensation and frost, this adapter is built for the kind of thermal cycling you see in unheated substations, cold-weather conveyor tunnels, or outdoor skid-mounted controls.
Fiber reach and environmental resistance
Each of the two LC ports supports multimode graded-index fiber out to 3 km. The adapter does not support single-mode fiber; if your run exceeds 3 km or requires single-mode, you need a different BusAdapter variant. Resistant to commercially available coolants, lubricants, diesel, and oil droplets in the air, and tested for corrosive gas. Conformal coating per IPC-CC-830A Class A and Type 1 protection against fouling mean the board survives humidity and conductive dust.
At 20 mm wide, 69.5 mm tall, and 59 mm deep, the BusAdapter snaps into the ET 200SP I/O rack alongside the interface module and I/O slices — the 59 mm depth is the same as the standard BusAdapter, so it does not push the enclosure gland plate. Altitude derating applies: full temperature range up to 2 000 m, then derate 10 K up to 3 500 m, and 20 K up to 5 000 m — relevant if this goes into a high-altitude conveyor or mining application.
