What this media converter does in a harsh panel
The 6AG1193-6AG20-2AA0 is a SIPLUS ET 200SP BusAdapter that converts between one 100BASE-FX LC fiber-optic port (multimode up to 3 km) and one RJ45 copper port. This is the conformal-coated variant of the standard 6ES7193-6AG20-0AA0, built to survive where condensation, coolant mist, and airborne oil are the norm rather than the exception.
Temperature range and environmental sealing
Rated for -40 °C to 60 °C in horizontal installation, and -40 °C to 50 °C when mounted vertically — the vertical derating reflects reduced convection in a tall cabinet. The full operating envelope extends to 5000 m altitude with a 20 K derating above 3500 m, so it works in high-altitude switchgear rooms without a second thought. The conformal coating (IPC-CC-830A Class A) and Type 1 fouling protection per EN 60664-3 mean the board is sealed against conductive deposits. It also carries resistance to commercially available coolants and lubricants, including diesel and oil droplets, and meets ANSI/ISA-71.04 GX Group A/B for corrosive gas environments. This is not a clean-room part — it is built for the nacelle, the kiln side, the washdown zone.
The module is 20 mm wide, 69.5 mm high, and 59 mm deep — it snaps onto the ET 200SP backplane bus and takes one width unit in the I/O rack. No DIN-rail footprint of its own; it mounts as part of the distributed I/O station. The LC port uses a standard duplex LC connector for multimode fiber; the RJ45 port is a standard shielded copper jack. Hardware functional status from FS04 is required — check the revision marking on the side before commissioning, especially if you are swapping into an existing backplane.
