Conformal-coated Y coupler for harsh environments
The Siemens 6AG1197-1LB00-4XA0 is a SIPLUS S7-400 Y coupler based on the standard 6ES7197-1LB00-0XA0, with conformal coating applied for operation in aggressive atmospheres — the coating protects the PCB assembly against condensation, corrosive gases, and conductive dust per IPC-CC-830A Class A. It bridges two PROFIBUS DP segments at up to 12 Mbit/s, supporting up to 31 DP slaves per segment, or 64 when using RS 485 repeaters or optical link modules. The active terminating resistor on the lower-level DP master system eliminates the need for external termination.
Wide temperature range and environmental resilience
The conformal coating and compliance with ANSI/ISA-71.04 Level GX Group A/B (excluding trichlorethylene) and EN 60721-3-3 class 3C4 means it tolerates harmful gas concentrations and salt spray that would corrode uncoated boards within months.
