Compact managed switch for S7-300 backplane integration
This Siemens 6AG1204-2BC10-2AA3 is a compact managed industrial Ethernet switch designed to snap onto the S7-300 rail, matching the 60 mm width and 125 mm height of a standard S7-300 module. The 124 mm depth keeps it flush with the rest of the rack. It draws 0.1 A at 24 VDC from the backplane or an external 4-pole terminal block, so the power budget on the S7-300 rail stays tight — no separate power supply needed for the switch.
Management and redundancy protocols on board
The switch supports CLI, SSH, Telnet, HTTP, HTTPS, SNMP v1/v2/v3, and FTP for full remote management — no proprietary software required. Ring redundancy is built in, along with port mirroring and error statistics for troubleshooting live links. It handles 10 Mbit/s and 100 Mbit/s on all ports, with LLDP, SNTP, DHCP client, and SICLOCK support for time synchronisation across the network. Port diagnostics and passive listening give the field tech a direct view into traffic without breaking the link.
