What this CPU is and where it goes
The 6AG1212-1BE31-2XB0 is a Siemens SIPLUS CPU rated for −40 to +70 °C ambient. Supply range is 20.4–28.8 V DC. It supports FBD, LAD, and SCL. The CPU can run any mix of these in the same project.
Communication stack — no gateway needed for common fieldbuses
PROFINET is onboard (autocrossing enabled, 100 m shielded cable max), PROFIBUS DP, MODBUS TCP as client or server, and AS‑Interface are all supported natively. That covers the vast majority of drives, remote I/O, and smart sensors in a plant without an extra communication processor. UDP is also available for custom datagram exchange.
Memory and backup
Integrated load memory is 1 Mbyte; code size is limited only by available RAM. The bit memory address space is 4 kbyte. A typical backup time of 480 hours holds the retentive data through power‑off intervals up to 20 days — useful if the UPS fails over a weekend.
Mounting and panel fit
The housing is 90 x 100 x 75 mm (W/H/D). It mounts on a DIN rail.
