What this CPU is and where it fits
The 6AG1214-1AE30-2XB0: Communication rides on PROFINET (TCP/IP enabled, no MODBUS and no PROFIBUS on board). Autocrossing and autonegotiation are standard, so you can plug directly into a switch without crossover cabling. The integrated 2 Mbyte load memory holds the program and data; backup time is 240 h typical for the retentive memory.
Supply voltage and temperature: what they mean for your panel
The 24 V supply holds regulation down to 20.4 V, which is useful in panels with long DC runs or shared power supplies that sag under load. If your installation sees transients or brownouts, this CPU stays online longer than a standard unit with a tighter tolerance. The -40 °C low end means the PLC can sit in unheated warehouses or outdoor cabinets during winter startups. At the high end, 70 °C covers enclosures with solar loading or heat from drives. Both limits are tested, not de-rated – the SIPLUS line is built for those extremes from day one.
Compliance paperwork you’ll need
cULus listing and UL approval cover North American panel certifications; CE mark satisfies European markets. No FM approval is on record, so avoid hazardous-area claims unless you have separate certification from the installation.
