The Siemens 6AG1214-1AG31-4XB0 is a SIPLUS variant of the S7-1200 CPU built for environments that cook a standard unit – ambient range –40 to 70°C. It runs on 24 VDC with a permissible window 20.4 to 28.8 V. On-board memory is 4 Mbyte for program and data, with a typical backup of 480 hours if the power drops. That's one less worry on a line-down spare. Communication comes standard: PROFINET, MODBUS, UDP, TCP/IP, and PROFIBUS – no extra module needed for those protocols. Also supports AS-Interface. Programming can be done in LAD, FBD, or SCL – no surprise to anyone who's worked with the family.
