This 6AG1214-1AG40-2XB0 is a Siemens SIPLUS S7-1200 CPU 1214C DC/DC/DC meant for environments where standard gear won't last — we're talking steel mills, cold storage, ovens, or a lube route that swings from a frozen morning to a hot afternoon. It carries the same 24 V DC supply and integrated 4 Mbyte memory as the standard 1214C, but it's rated from -40 °C to 70 °C, so it'll keep running where a standard unit would trip on low temperature or bake its caps.
You can program it in LAD, FBD, or SCL — all supported out of the box. Communication includes MODBUS TCP/IP as client or server, PROFIBUS via a CM 1243-5 or CM 1242-5 module, and a built-in web server for diagnostics. It's also got DCP for device discovery on PROFINET, though note IRT and MRP are not supported — this is a standard PROFINET node, not a motion-control sync node. The 24 V DC supply needs L+ minus 4 V DC at minimum; watch that drop on long cable runs.
