Ruggedized CPU for harsh environments
The 6AG1214-1HF40-5XB0: This is the SIPLUS version of the S7-1200 1214C — pulled working from a line that ran in an unheated warehouse. The wide temperature range, -40°C to +70°C, is the main reason someone pulls the trigger on this over the standard part. FBD and LAD programming are both supported with failsafe logic built in, but note: PROFIsafe is not present. That means you can write a failsafe program in LAD/FBD, but the safety communication layer is separate — a CM 1243-5 for PROFIsafe won't talk directly. Backup time is 480 hours typical at 40°C (12 days minimum), so the retentive memory holds through an extended power-down without a battery swap.
Wiring and commissioning notes
Marine approval is listed for this order code — panel builders can check that box without separate paperwork. Backup time of 480 h at 40°C means the real-time clock and retentive data survive a weekend shutdown.
