What you're getting
The Siemens 6AG1214-1HG31-4XB0 is the SIPLUS version of the S7-1200 CPU 1214C, built for environments where standard units won't hold — rated from -40 °C up to 70 °C and a 24 V supply that tolerates a 20.4 V to 28.8 V window. It handles the usual IEC languages — LAD, FBD, SCL — and carries MODBUS, PROFIBUS, and PROFINET on board, so it plays nicely with older panels and newer Ethernet-based lines. Integrated 4 MB of load memory and a typical backup time of 480 h means it holds its program and retentive tags through a power loss without a battery change.
Panel fit and fieldbus integration
Panel footprint is 110 mm wide, 100 mm tall, 75 mm deep — fits the same cutouts as the standard 1214C. Mounts on DIN rail; leave clearance for the PROFINET connector and ventilation per the 70 °C rating. Behind the PROFINET port you get UDP, TCP/IP, and the usual S7 comms. AS-Interface and PROFIBUS are available as well, so you can keep a mixed-bus line running without an extra gateway box.
