I/O and communication profile
Addresses up to 1 024 byte of inputs and 1 024 byte of outputs; overall limit of 16 modules, dynamically configurable. Onboard PROFINET supports shared device and autocrossing; PROFIBUS connectivity is possible via the CM 1243-5 module. AS-Interface, MODBUS, TCP/IP, and UDP are also natively supported, reducing the need for external gateways. Integrated 4 Mbyte memory provides backup for 480 h (typical), retaining the program and data through extended power outages without an external UPS.
Programming and monitoring
Code can be written in FBD, LAD, or SCL — all supported natively. Forcing of I/Os and present-value adjustment is available online.
