CPU at a glance
The Siemens 6AG1215-1BG40-4XB0 is a SIPLUS S7-1200 CPU running on 24 V DC (20.4 to 28.8 V), with 4 MB integrated work memory and PROFINET interface onboard. It supports programming in FBD, LAD, and SCL. This CPU is not expandable. PROFIBUS requires the CM 1243-5 module; AS-Interface also needs an external module.
Network and protocol support
PROFINET is built in as the primary fieldbus, with shared-device capability. Modbus TCP and UDP are supported natively. PROFIBUS requires the external CM 1243-5 module. AS-Interface also needs an additional module. The CPU can serve as both Modbus TCP client and server. For force inputs/outputs and forcing, support is present.
Panel fit and mounting
DIN-rail mount, dimensions 130 mm wide x 100 mm high x 75 mm deep. Leaves room alongside for a PROFIBUS module or a small signal conditioner. Operates from -40 °C to 70 °C, covering most SIPLUS extended-range environments.
