8 outputs at 0.5 A — a straightforward S7-1200 slice
The 6AG1222-1BF30-2XB0 gives you eight digital outputs rated 0.5 A each on resistive or inductive loads. Nominal 24 V DC, permitted range 20.4 to 28.8 V. That's the standard S7-1200 output spec — good for driving contactors, solenoid valves, or indicator lamps in a compact control panel. Output switching is crisp: 50 µs on, 200 µs off. Diagnostics on the bus flag short-circuit or wire-break — no need to trace each loop separately. Wide ambient range of -40 to 70 °C means this module can live in an unheated warehouse or near a hot machine cabinet without derating.
Not a drop-in for the 32-output sibling
This 8-output module draws 120 mA max from the 5 V DC backplane bus. The 1BH32 variant requires a different backplane budget and field wiring — verify compatibility before substitution.
Panel mounting and wiring notes
Mounts on a standard DIN rail. Dimensions: 100 mm × 45 mm × 75 mm — takes up three width units in the S7-1200 rack. IP20 rated, so keep it inside a cabinet with at least IP54 enclosure for washdown areas. Short-circuit protection must be provided externally per the spec. Use a 0.5 A fuse or electronic breaker per output group (outputs are isolated in groups of 1). The module limits inductive shutdown voltage to typ. (L+) -48 V, which helps protect downstream drivers. Cable length: shielded up to 500 m, unshielded up to 150 m. For a noisy bottling line, go shielded.
