Output channel ratings and wiring constraints
The 6AG1222-1BF32-4XB0 provides 8 digital outputs, each rated 0.5 A for resistive and inductive loads at 24 V DC — that per-channel limit governs the solenoid, contactor coil, or indicator lamp you connect; a 5 W lamp load is the maximum per output. Short-circuit protection is not built in — a 24 V DC fuse or electronic circuit breaker must be provided externally per group of outputs. The module draws up to 120 mA from the 5 V DC backplane bus and dissipates 1.5 W typical, so the rack's backplane current budget and enclosure thermal rise need checking when the slot is fully populated.
Environmental range and physical fit
The 45 mm wide, 100 mm high, 75 mm deep housing snaps onto the standard S7-1200 DIN-rail mounting rail; the IP20 enclosure means it belongs inside a panel, not in a washdown zone. A front connector (ordered separately) is required for field wiring — the module ships without one, so the BOM must include the matching 40-pin or 20-pin terminal block.
