Field fit and switching specs
The Siemens 6AG1223-1BH30-2XB0 is an active-production S7-1200 digital I/O module that gives you 8 inputs and 8 outputs in a 45 mm wide package. Input switches at 0.1 V threshold (signal 0) and 20 V minimum for signal 1, with 50 µs on-delay and 200 µs off-delay—fast enough for most sensor feedback loops. Outputs sink 4 A per group derated to 8 A at 40 °C and 4 A at 50 °C; short-circuit protection must be added externally.
Cable runs and mounting
Unshielded cable runs up to 150 m, shielded up to 500 m—enough to reach remote junction boxes without a repeater. IP20 rated, 100 mm tall, 75 mm deep; mounts on the S7-1200 rail. Required front connector (order separately). Falls inside the standard panel envelope.
Production status and compliance
Marked as current production. Carries cULus, CE, and FM approvals so it lands in UL 508A or CE-marked panels without a certification gap. Typ power draw of 2.5 W keeps the backplane budget open for other modules.
