What this module brings to an S7-1200 rack
The 6AG1231-4HD30-4XB0: Four analog inputs, each configurable as current (0 to 20 mA, 280 Ω input resistance) or bipolar voltage (±10 V, ±5 V, ±2.5 V). The differential front end handles common-mode voltages up to 12 V. Rated for -40 °C to 70 °C ambient, so it survives cold storage rooms and hot panel enclosures. IP20 means it belongs in a clean, enclosed cabinet. Diagnostic alarms for wire-break, under/over range, and supply-voltage monitoring are parameterizable. The module signals trouble without polling the channel data. Power draw is 1.5 W typical, 45 mA from the 24 VDC backplane bus. Fits a standard 45 mm slot and needs a front connector ordered separately.
