SIPLUS RS-232 module for harsh environments
The 6AG1241-1AH32-2XB0 is the SIPLUS extreme version of the standard S7-1200 CM 1241 RS-232 module. It carries conformal coating and extends the operating range from -40 °C to 70 °C, making it suitable for cold-chain, outdoor, and washdown zones where condensation or coolant mist is present. The module supports Freeport protocol via a 9-pin D-sub connector and draws 220 mA from the L5+ logic supply, with a typical power loss of 1.1 W.
vs. the standard CM 1241
SIPLUS variant extends operating range from -40 °C to 70 °C and adds conformal coating for resistance to diesel, oil mist, and salt spray.
Panel integration notes
The module occupies one S7-1200 slot at 30 mm width, 100 mm height, 75 mm depth. Mount on the DIN rail with the rest of the CPU and I/O slices — no separate bracket needed. Cable length to the RS-232 device is limited to 10 m. Supply voltage must stay within 20.4–28.8 V DC; the module will pull 220 mA max from the L5+ backplane supply at 24 V. The conformal coating is factory-applied — no secondary coating required for the board, but maintain seal on the D-sub connector in wet environments.
