GSM/GPRS link to SCADA, no LTE
The Siemens 6AG1242-7KX31-7XE0 is a SIPLUS CP 1242-7 V2 GSM/GPRS communication module that connects a S7-1200 to a SCADA system via OPC interface. It supports GSM on 850/900/1800/1900 MHz bands and GPRS with a downlink maximum of 86 kbit/s and uplink maximum of 43 kbit/s. LTE, UMTS, DNP3, and IEC 60870-5 are not supported — if your site runs on 4G/LTE backhaul, this module will not connect.
IP20, rail or wall, antenna connector
Rated IP20 — intended for clean, dry control cabinets. The external antenna connects via an SMA socket (50 ohms). Remote firmware update is supported, and encrypted data transmission is available.
