What it is and what it does
The 6AG1243-1BX30-2AX0 is a Siemens SIPLUS Telecontrol (TIM) module for the S7-1200 platform, adding SCADA connectivity via Telecontrol Server Basic and Standard Telecontrol protocols.
Physical and electrical fit
Single-width compact module, 30 mm × 110 mm × 75 mm, mounts on a top hat DIN rail with IP20 protection. Power consumption is 1.25 W, drawn from the backplane; no auxiliary supply needed. Ambient storage and transport range spans -40 to +70 °C, typical for SIPLUS extended-temperature variants.
Security and remote access
Built-in stateful inspection firewall, encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSH), and remote firmware update capability. Non-required services can be switched off per Siemens industrial security recommendations. Supports up to 15 receive-direction and 3 send-direction connections via T blocks, plus email client for event-driven notifications.
