DNP3 SCADA link for S7-1200
The Siemens 6AG1243-1JX30-7XE0 is a CP 1243-1 communications processor that adds DNP3 services to an S7-1200 CPU, enabling direct connection to a SCADA control center without a separate gateway.
DNP3 throughput and data capacity
The module handles up to 200 data points per station, with a downlink (SCADA to PLC) maximum of 86 kbit/s and an uplink (PLC to SCADA) maximum of 43 kbit/s. It supports up to 3 simultaneous send connections and 15 receive connections, which is sufficient for multi-master SCADA architectures where several control centers poll the same substation.
Rated IP20 with a 75 mm depth, 30 mm width, and 100 mm height — it occupies one S7-1200 slot and leaves room for adjacent I/O modules in the same DIN rail assembly. The supplied plug covers must remain over unused interfaces during operation to maintain the enclosure rating.
Lifecycle and engineering prerequisites
Remote firmware update is supported, and the module conforms to EN 60721-3-3 class 3S4 and EN 60721-3-6 class 6S3 for sand and dust resistance in transport and storage.
